1663- Irony...A nice story!

A Bar Opened Opposite a Church!!! The Church Prayed Daily against the bar business.
Days later the bar was struck by lightning & caught fire which destroyed it.
Bar Owner Sued the Church Authorities for the cause of its destruction, as it was an action because of their Prayer.
The Church Denied all Responsibility!!!
So, the judge commented -
"It's Difficult to Decide the Case because here we have a Bar Owner Who Believes in the Power of Prayer & an Entire Church that Doesn't Believe in it"
Superb one.

1662- Dan Brown (of 'Da Vinci Code') on Science and Religion

(TOI, Chennai, 12:11:2014)
Both science and religion played very important roles in Dan's life, as his mother was a church organist and his father ,a math teacher .
There are two types of miracles -science and religion, and a child's perception of both always depends on his parents. I had a religiously Christian mother and a math professor father. I have the number plates of my parents' cars. My mother's reads `Kyrie' -which means `Lord' in Greek -while my dad's read `Metric', so I had an amalgam of both science and religion in my garage itself, and that represents the environment I grew up in.
When I was a child, in the summer, we used to go this house by the lake and have family services there. We'd all get on a canoe and pray on the lake. It was excruciatingly boring without the pipe organ, the incense and the free doughnuts of the church. I wondered how to make it interesting, and I heard God's voice say, `Bring a fishing rod'. My mom said it was disrespectful, and I tried to justify it by saying, `If God didn't want me to go fishing, then why did he make fish so delicious?' My mom won, of course, as she was very difficult to argue with. She said Sunday was a day of rest, so, no fishing rod. I got my own back when I invoked the `rest day' logic and refused to paddle the canoe on the way back.
Concurrent with my mother's religion was my dad's logic and science. They both revered the beauty of nature, but with different lenses. He would talk about space, infinity and the universe. Baby carrots were his tool to teach us about conic sections, and we had to make a hyperbola with carrot crossections. When we went to the pizza place, he would calculate the area and diameter of the `pi' --figuring out the best pizza deal.
When my parents visited the set of The Da Vinci Code, I was scared that my dad would go to the director and start suggesting more oblique angles. But with my mother, I worried that she might swoon all over Tom Hanks. WE ALL SENSE GOD, WHETHER WE BELIEVE IN SCIENCE OR RELIGION
As Dan grew older , he began to question the different approaches science and religion had when explaining the universe and its beginning Science has exciting proofs and religion demands your faith. Christianity was a reality, a fact, for me, till I was 13, after which I started questioning. I questioned which of the two theories about the beginning were true God created the universe or the Big Bang, evolution or the biblical version of Adam and Eve. When I asked a priest how to make sense of these differences, he said, `Nice boys don't ask such questions.' Humans hate not understanding something and being in a void. Earlier, people had a God for everything they didn't understand. They explained the unknown with God earthquakes, infertility, thunder, and even love. But then sci ence kicked in and explained exactly what thunder was, and Thor went from fact to myth.
But, as the study of science went deeper, the ground began to get softer. When the questions became difficult, science became vague and terms like `The Uncertainty Principle', `margin for error' and the `Theory of Relativity' sneaked in. Physics turns into metaphysics and numbers become imaginary numbers. Even matter came into question particle physics now believes that matter is nothing but pure energy .
That is when the line between science and religion begins to blur. What I have come to accept is that science and religion are partners. They are simply two different languages, attempting to tell the same story .
Regardless of religious beliefs, I think that we all have that one moment when we look up at the sky and stare up at the universe, and ask, `What is that?' and we know, that whatever it is, it's bigger than us. I think it's in that moment that we all sense God, whatever or whoever we think God is. And I believe that all religion is the same, because if our spiritual belief is the same, then how can and why should the religions that exist be any different? All religion teaches the same thing kindness over cruelty, creation over destruction and love over hate.. .

1661 -If God is omnipresent, why do we not see him?

Observing from the bank of pool thickly covered with scum and weeds, you will not see the water in it. If you desire to see the water, remove the scum from the surface of the pond. With the eyes covered with the film of Maya, you complain that you can not see God. If you wish to see Him, remove the film of Maya from your eyes
(Ramakrishna Parmahamsa)

1658- The Man with a golden heart!

uyzz....Ds is a must read....Ull feel proud of # SalmanBhai....
There was a lady begger,on footpath..she was badly ill...a person used to walk daily and see tht lady, she was having a little day when that man was on his regular walk,he saw that ..lady was no more, she died and her little daughter was crying....he just hold thehand of tht girl and carried away with him at his home.He nourished that girl, gave her education, made her self dependent, and now he is going to give her lifelong happiness........
Freinds....That girl is arpita khan...
And that man is.. Salman khan... who has booked whole palace in hyderabad and spent 64cr on her
marriage....God Bless him.....

King Bhagath  As a salman khan admirer, I couldn't hold myself from sharing this fact....
Did you know Arpita for whom Salim and Salman family are spending millions of rupees for the wedding is infact adopted by Salim khan
following the death of her homeless mother living on the footpath. Salim khan does not like spending money or wasting it on weddings. In fact they are spending more money than all weddings in their family combined for Arpitas wedding alone. Wow.

Arpita liked the Falaknuma palace and just because Salman heard that she likes it he booked the entire palace hotel for 2 crores....
Just for Arpitas happiness salman made friends with Shahrukh, he went to his house personally to invite him. (Now how many of us would forgive ur foe for the sake of a adopted homeless sister ???)
I believe they were in dire straits when they adopted Arpita. After taking her in, their fortunes rose. Salman became a super star, money came to the family.
What is even more amazing is that they did not change her religion. She was even married off as a Hindu. Hats off to these guys !!!
So much about this I can say. ....
Long story short, Salim khan has really taught his kids to have a large beautiful heart.
Hats off to Salim n Salman khan family.
I am sharing this info here because I believe good humans n good stories need to be told for others to be inspired from.

1657- You are a soul

(Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Two)....
Verse 20.
For the soul there is never birth nor death. Nor, having once been, does he ever cease to be. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing, undying and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain.

Verse 22.
As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, similarly, the soul accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.

“I am not this hair, I am not this skin, I am the soul that lives within.”

1656-Let's start making amends

One of The Best Eye Opener Message - Must Read
It was their anniversary, and Aisha was waiting for her husband Rajiv to show up.
Things had changed since their marriage, the once cute couple couldn't-live-without-each-other had turned bitter.
Fighting over every little things, both didn't like the way things had changed.
Aisha was waiting to see if Rajiv remembered it was their anniversary!
Just as the door bell rang she ran to find her husband wet and smiling with a bunch of flowers in his hand.
The two started re-living the old days. Making up for fights, then was d plan for champagne, light music And it was raining outside! It was perfect.
But the moment paused when the phone in the bedroom rang.
Aisha went to pick it up and it was a man. "Hello ma'am I'm calling from the police station. Is this Mr Rajiv Mehra's number?"
"Yes it is!"
"I'm sorry ma'am; but there was an accident and a man died.
We got this number from his wallet; we need you to come and identify his body."
Aisha's heart sank.!!! She was shocked!
But my husband is here with me?"
"Sorry ma'am, but the incident took place at 2 pm, when he was boarding the train."
Aisha was about to lose her conscience.
How could this happen?!
She had heard about the soul of the person coming to meet a loved one before it leaves!
She ran into the other room.
He was not there. It was true! He had left her for good!!
Oh God she would have died for another chance to mend every little fight! She rolled on the floor in pain. She lost her chance! Forever!
Suddenly there was a noise from the bathroom, the door opened and Rajiv came out and said "Darling, I forgot to tell you my wallet got stolen today".
Its the last quarter of the year so let's start making amends.
To parents
To siblings
To friends
And many more.
No one is promised tomorrow. Have a wonderful Life with no regrets!
This has to be one of the best message!!
