“The law of decision Decisiveness is vital quality of all successful people.
Every great leap forward in your life comes after you have made a clear decision of some kind.”
Any management process, including self-management, is nothing but deciding and communicating.
Deciding involves:
what to do (goals),
how to do (procedures),
who to do (assignment of responsibility),
where to do (organising) and
what corrections to apply (controlling).
“The law of choice
Your life/ where you are and what you are because of all your choices and decisions in life up to this present minute.
Since you are always free to choose what you think about, you are in complete control of your life and everything that happens to you. Even taking no action is a choice.”
Life is a choice. In fact, that’s all there ever is. Everything is choice, your career, dream home, life partner etc. So choices are what make up your lives, and then choose wisely.
GEMS:
ü Decisiveness is a vital quality of all successful people.
ü Success is a daily practice of wise choices.
ü Economics is the science which studies human behaviour as a relationship between ends and scarce means which have alternative uses. Economic problems arise because scarce means have alternative uses. Choice will have to be made between the alternative uses, but it is by no means an easy task. Therefore, the ‘choice making’ or ‘Decision making’ is the means of tackling economic problems.
ü Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice.
ü We all have power of choice, but once used, our choice has power over us. Weigh consequences of your choices.
ü Life is a cause-and-effect process; whatever causes you initiate you will reap the effects.
ü Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do.
ü Human tendency is to follow the path of least resistance in everything that is done. All human beings are therefore basically lazy, seeking the easiest way possible at all times.
ü Decide what you want, decide what you are willing to exchange for it. Establish your priorities and go to work.
ü Facts don’t make decisions, people do.
ü Economy is a distributive virtue, and consists not in saving but selection.
ü Your life is the sum total of all your choices up to this present minute.
ü Don’t make a decision or don’t agree to anything you are not sure of. Wait till you have all the facts.
ü A decision without action is just a thought.
ü Today’s neglected decisions become tomorrow’s crises.
ü The best way to have a good idea is to have lots of ideas.
ü To solve your problems, bend your thinking and seeing.
ü 3 and 3 can make 6, 9, 0,1,27, 33 etc. Therefore think and use imagination.
ü Think. There is always a better way.
ü To solve a problem it is necessary to think. It is necessary to think even to decide what facts to collect.
ü A human being is a deciding being.
ü Man's many desires are like the small metal coins he carries around in his pocket. The more he has, the more they weigh him down.
ü In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.
ü Our job is to decide; the Universe's job is to provide.
ü A real decision is measured by the fact that you've taken a new action. If there's no action, you haven't truly decided.
ü It's in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.
ü Never bring the problem solving stage into the decision making stage. Otherwise, you surrender yourself to the problem rather than the solution.
